Guinand watches – Rödelheimer chronometers Daring to start something new: Rödel- heim is currently doing it and so is one of the district’s traditional businesses. It was only three years ago that Matthias Klüh took over the Guinand brand from the pilot-watch pioneer Helmut Sinn. At the time, the future for the watch classic looked bleak with the retirement of Helmut Sinn. Klüh‘s credo is that tradition needs preserv- ing while also being rethought. For exam- ple, timepieces originating in Switzerland are now assembled in the Federal Republic of Germany. That‘s why every dial is now adorned with „Made in Germany“. BUSINESSES WITH TRADITION

Conﬁserie Graff – top baking craft with tradition The delicious aroma of fresh bread, the sight of lovingly decorat- ed cakes and the familiar sound of Hessian „babble”. A visit to the Confiserie Graff in Rödelheim is a feast for the senses. Founded in 1832 and relocated from Schwanheim to Rödelheim in 1950, the Frankfurter family bakery is now in its seventh generation. The master confectioner Regina Graff is the generation current- ly enriching the locality with delicacies – according to a TV programme starring Johann Lafer, she even bakes „the best bread in town“. Many of her baked goods are still based on reci- pes from her great-great-great-grandfather. These are comple- mented by international specialities inspired by Regina‘s travels around the world.
