HOME AT LAST Living in the countryside does not always mean being far from the city, as VIDO proves. Nature here begins at your doorstep. Morning traffi c jams and endless commuting are of no concern here. The city and nature is as one. A dream has become a reality. Within harmonious and timeless architecture, nature and the city exist together rather than apart. L u d w i g - L a n d m a n n - S t r a ß e Rödelheimer Landstraße
A new search for community Neighbourly lifestyles are becoming increasingly popular around the world. Residents want communal areas and vegetable gardens. This is not aclichéd search for a hippie commune life- style but about choice and synergies to make life easier and more beautiful. COMMUNITY FEELING
Enjoying the warm evening sun at a picnic together with the neighbours in the green inner courtyard, while the children lark around on the playground – VIDO combines familiarity with urban independence.
6 7 VIDO Everyone knows that home-coming feeling after a long, hectic day. To at last leaving the hustle and bustle behind you and simply relax- ing. Enjoy security and familiarity – HOME at last! VIDO conveys exactly these feelings into a residential area. It is the ideal distance away from things enabling you to switch off and slow down. VIDO is Latin for green home but it means so much more. VIDO is a community that provides space to enable anything but to compel noth- ing. VIDO stands for the nice sides of life: the freedom of nature and the allure of the city. An authentic oasis where city and nature perfect- ly complement each other – OUTSIDE IN THE MIDDLE!
The small metropolis with a big heart Sip on a morning coffee that has hundreds of years of tradition, enjoy it with a melonpan from the Japanese–French patisserie, and chat with the charming ar- chitect you meet here every day. That’s Frankfurt. Cosmopolitan, but familiar. Frankfurters lovingly describe their city as the smallest metropolis in the world. Shimmering skyscrapers and the glamour of international finance come together with renowned artists, cultural institutions and picturesque nature. The city al- ways has its finger on the pulse of the times, but without the hustle and bustle of mega cities. Around 740,000 inhabitants from 180 nations live here: together
A TASTE OF THE URBAN Made in the City – Renaissance of the artisan The digital age is making traditional craftsmanship hipper than ever. Urban manufacturing means designed, made and sold within the city, far away from international mass production, and with a highly personal touch. Clothes, furniture or food: VIDO is surrounded by a multitude of outlets sell- ing beautiful „Made in the City” products such as fi ne leather goods by Joel Fourier, tailor-made suits by Atelier Sobolewski in Bockenheim, or top baking craft from Confi serie Graff in Rödelheim.
Experiencing Frankfurt - By board and from city roofs A light wind on your face, a sense of free- dom and the perfect view of the city’s backdrop. The new trend sport of Stand Up Paddling – a combination of surfi ng and canoeing – is the ideal way to experi- ence the city from the water. A practical side effect is that every single muscle gets exercise. After a successful tour there is nowhere better to end the day than on the rooftops of the city – whether feasting with the best view of Frankfurt or rooftop yoga at sunset. There is hardly any other city with rooftops as varied and beautifully designed as in Mainhattan. From exclusive restau- rants to casual beach bars, the city has countless opportunities for an evening high up above the ground.
rather than side by side, creating new trends and preserving won- derful traditions. They make the city what it is today: a metropolis with the seventh highest quality of life in the world. countryside. Everything is close by in Frankfurt. Getting around in the city is quick. Getting out of the city is also quick. The metropolis on the River Main is an important traffi c hub by land, water and air. A skyline that has been setting international standards for years, bordered by Germany’s largest ur- ban forest. The largest airport in Germany is only a few minutes away. A concentration of cultural institutions that is unique in the country. The city is nestled in the Spessart, Taunus and Odenwald mountain ranges that lure you to weekend excursions into the 8 9 » Frankfurt has developed into a city with one of the the highest qualities of life – for living, working and relaxing and a stunning skyline. « MACRO LOCATION FRANKFURT
MICRO LOCATION OUTSIDE IN THE MIDDLE Close enough to the beat of the city yet far enough away – urban yet idyllic. VIDO is located west of Frankfurt city in between the two finance centres of Westend and Eschborn and just a few kilome- tres away from the Taunus nature park with impressive countryside as far as the eye can see! A long walk through the Solm- spark, a quick run along the Nidda, an exploration via the GrünGürtel into the Brentanopark, or a morn- ing swim in one of the two nearby open air pools. The quarter offers an incredible number of opportu- nities for an active lifestyle. And being active can be done with oth- ers, with an impressive number of sports clubs in Rödelheim. Bockenheim is just a few minutes away with its bars and culture and always something new to discover in this charming part of town. VIDO is well connected by car, bike or public transport. Only a few stops by the underground or
Guinand watches – Rödelheimer chronometers Daring to start something new: Rödel- heim is currently doing it and so is one of the district’s traditional businesses. It was only three years ago that Matthias Klüh took over the Guinand brand from the pilot-watch pioneer Helmut Sinn. At the time, the future for the watch classic looked bleak with the retirement of Helmut Sinn. Klüh‘s credo is that tradition needs preserv- ing while also being rethought. For exam- ple, timepieces originating in Switzerland are now assembled in the Federal Republic of Germany. That‘s why every dial is now adorned with „Made in Germany“. BUSINESSES WITH TRADITION
Confi serie Graff – top baking craft with tradition The delicious aroma of fresh bread, the sight of lovingly decorat- ed cakes and the familiar sound of Hessian „babble”. A visit to the Confi serie Graff in Rödelheim is a feast for the senses. Founded in 1832 and relocated from Schwanheim to Rödelheim in 1950, the Frankfurter family bakery is now in its seventh generation. The master confectioner Regina Graff is the generation current- ly enriching the locality with delicacies – according to a TV programme starring Johann Lafer, she even bakes „the best bread in town“. Many of her baked goods are still based on reci- pes from her great-great-great-grandfather. These are comple- mented by international specialities inspired by Regina‘s travels around the world.
S-Bahn commuter train to Frank- furt city centre, three motorway junctions, and just 15 minutes by car to the airport. What’s more, the area is growing strongly, not just in resident num- bers and infrastructure, but also in potential. » Future ways of living are emer- ging here – VIDO means you can be here from the start. « 10 11

BUILDING EXTERIOR The punched window façade with clinker bricks blends picturesquely into the surroundings. It is an architecture that doesn‘t pretend to be anything more than what it is – a great home that impresses with all its facets!
HIGHLIGHTS A quiet neighbourhood square forms the heart of VIDO. The longer buildings provide a protective front while city apartment villas airily frame the square. The façade uses clinker plinths, spacious balconies, loggias, windows and closed areas to enable very bright apartments and plenty of privacy. The residential complex blends harmoniously into a mature green environment – with homes that not only look good, but also feel incredibly good. The buildings have been pleasantly arranged with a balanced mix of public and private green ar- eas. These enable space for a multitude of possibilities while also providing plenty of quiet places to be alone. Enjoy the best views at sunset from your own balcony. 14 15 The complex is optimally sized enabling you to get to know your neighbours personally! The square offers plenty of opportunities for casual meetings. VIDO’s ideal location and connections cater for every wish, whether to get to your favour- ite baker in Bockenheim at the weekend or the traditional butchers in Rödelheim.
The harmonious layout of the buildings provides many green and open spaces and thus ensures a perfect synergy between inte- rior and exterior spaces. VIDO‘s architecture flows with modern urban design. The plaster facade uses clinker bricks on the ground and 1st floors. The end building at the corner of Ludwig-Landmann and Rödelheimer Landstraße has eye-catching facade features which get it noticed.
ON THE DOORSTEP An active neighbourhood Around 15 percent of Frankfurt resi- dents have never been to an indoor or outdoor swimming pool before. That won‘t happen to VIDO resi- dents. The Hausener outdoor pool and the Brentanobad are just a few minutes walk away. The outdoor pool in Hausen is the fi rst in Germa- ny each year to open to swimmers - even at a chilly 2 degrees. Aquafi t- ness several times a week is available to those wanting to strengthen their immune systems for the coming season. The Brentanobad is often referred to as „Frankfurt‘s Mediter- ranean“ – no wonder, given its 11,000 square metres of water. In Europe‘s largest outdoor swim- ming pool, around 13,000 visitors are cared for by eight pool atten- dants every day and eat around 2,000 scoops of ice cream. Right next to the Brentanobad there are also regular highlights for sports enthu- siasts. Female power football comes together with highly complex strat- egy with the 1st FFC Frankfurt. The most successful women‘s football club in Germany has produced female soccer legends such as Birgit Prinz and Nia Künzer. The stadium regularly offers opportunities to join in the euphoria for the ladies from their loyal fan community.
Farewell to a cliché – A new generation of allotment gardeners Recuperating in nature right on your doorstep. The allotment garden makes it possible. More and more young metropolitan families have realised this. The average age of allotment gardeners has fallen signifi cantly in recent years and the image of having a „living room in nature“ has shifted from small- minded smugness to cosmopolitan freedom. close by and an unobstructed view of the Frankfurt skyline. Across Germany, almost one million people are involved in the approxi- mately 15,000 allotment garden associations. Berlin still leads the list as having most allotment garden- ers, but at VIDO, the Taunus Gardens right on your doorstep are an allure, with its opportunities for relaxation
» A green square is great for the different generations. Mature trees on the eastern edge of the property have a cosy effect and provide shade on hot sum- mer days. « 16 17
BUILDING INTERIOR Open, authentic, urban – the apart- ments range from 1- to 5-rooms and easy to individualise due to functional floor layouts. Fixtures and fittings are discreet, contem- porary and high quality. Clean de- signs and large windows guaran- tee a friendly atmosphere in bright apartments. Oak strip parquet flooring with floor heating gives a stylish and cosy ambience. The bathrooms and WCs with their sanitary fa- cilities are just as high-quality and appealing. Floor-level, spa- cious showers are comfortable to use and bring a spa flair into your home bathroom.
VISIONS OF THE FUTURE Future trends that will affect us Our cities should become greener, more beautiful and cleaner – Frank- furt has long recognised that it is high time to rethink the topic of traffi c. Modern forms of mobility are becoming increasingly popular here. In the metropolis on the River Main, there are approx. 1.21 car-sharing vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants. This places the city 3rd in Germany-wide comparisons. Whether you are a last-minute or an advance planner, everyone can fi nd the appropriate sharing model here. If doing without an own vehicle is not an option, electric mobility offers a way of keeping the conscience clear. At the beginning of 2017, around 35,000 electric vehicles were being driven in Germany. The number has risen since then. In Frankfurt, too, the number of e-cars is steadily increasing but there remains a lack of charging points. VIDO is therefore taking precautionary measures to ensure residents are always topped up with electricity from the in-house underground car park.
The feel-good offi ce Calling colleagues at the other end of the world, freshly prepared lunch from your own kitchen, an evening drink on your beloved balcony. Those who feel comfort- able at work are more productive – increasingly more employers are recog- nising this. The „Out of Offi ce“ model is becoming more and more popular and modern technologies are creating oppor- tunities to realise it by making communi- cations simpler and easier. Flexibility and freedom are important criteria when Gener- ation Y are choosing a career. They therefore represent a shift in thinking that will funda- mentally change our future world of work. And even if mobile working and working from home are not alternatives to face-to-face meetings, they are complementary – and they feel good in a nice space!
